Usability update: Invoice editing

December 20th, 2007

Wow, the year is almost over isn’t it? Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten the promised feature releases before the end of the year.

To tide you over until then, here’s a tasty treat you all will love.

You may recall that up until this point once you created an invoice item you couldn’t edit it, only delete it. That was no fun. I just rolled out a release that fixes that flaw.

Edit a regular invoice item.

You’ll notice that the edit screen looks different depending on the item you edit. If you edit a “regular” invoice item, you’ll have access to edit all of its fields directly – as shown above.

If you edit an item that included imported time entries, you’ll get something that looks like the image below. This gives you full control over what time entries you include on an invoice.

Edit an invoice item with time entries imported.

Additionally, a bug on time entry import has been fixed. Before if you imported time entries for the same task at two different times you would get two invoice entries. They’d have the same name, but point to different time entries. That was pretty ugly, so I made sure now that in this situation the entries get rolled up into one invoice item.

Enjoy the update, and feel free to discuss here in the comments, or on our forum.
