Cashboard has been live now for about four months.

Today we passed a special milestone. The system has helped Cashboard users collect over one million dollars in payments.

It’s amazing to know that this tool I dreamed up is helping so many other people get paid on time!

We’ve just finished pushing a minor update to the way invoices are handled inside Cashboard that should boost your productivity in a major way.

Up until today, invoices could only only belong to one project. This is no longer the case.

Multiple project invoicing

Invoices can have no associated project, or as many associated projects as you want.

Since you no longer have to create a project to send an invoice we’ve updated our account plan restrictions. Please let us know what you think, either here or via our support email form.

What’s coming next?

This is all in preparation for Scheduled Invoicing, which is currently being tested. Be on the look out early next week for details of this great new Cashboard feature.

There are some hiccups going on with Basecamp integration at the moment. We are on the case and are looking into things. More updates to follow.

It’s been 3 months since we launched, but we’re already prepping for beta!

In celebration, we’ve released a slew of updates to Cashboard that should please everyone.

New Features

Accept payments online via credit card or PayPal

The biggest thing that everyone has been asking for is accepting payments online.
Your wishes have finally been granted.

Show your clients time as you work on it

Before today your clients could only see your time log after you invoiced them. This is no longer the case. You can now show your clients your billable time as you work on it.

To enable this feature go to a project’s Time Log screen and select the option you’d like. The default is still set to show clients time only after it’s been invoiced, so don’t worry about exposing any information prematurely.

Indicators for items over budget

On your project screen you’ll now notice that if you’re over an estimated time the numbers will display in red. This has helped us keep a sharp eye on how we’re doing on our own estimates. We hope you’ll enjoy it as well.

Change tasks for saved time entries

You can now also change tasks for saved time entries. This is great for logging time to an !UNCATEGORIZED task, then moving entries later on when you have more time to set things up.

TIP: Task lists in Cashboard are alphabetized, so adding the ”!” assures that item will always appear first.

We will be going “Beta” on July 10th. What’s this mean? It means that we think we’re ready to go full force after making Cashboard a very robust online billing system.

Cashboard has been up for under 3 months in a public alpha, and it’s already been used to accept over half a million dollars in online payments! Pretty good for word of mouth, excellent reviews, and no advertising! We couldn’t be happier.

It also means prices will be going up to their regular levels.

Paid customer bonus

Paying customers who already have accounts, or sign up with a paying account before July 10th will get two weeks of free additional Cashboard service. This is our way of saying “thank you” for being early adopters!
