Cashboard UI Refresh

March 27th, 2008

As hinted at yesterday, here’s a preview of the new features that will be pushed live this evening (PST).

Refreshed design

You’ll notice right off the bat that we’ve tweaked a lot of minor things to make Cashboard easier to navigate, cleaner, and nicer on the eyes.

Refreshed timesheet design

Tabs have been integrated into the header and all possible visual noise – like duplicate headers and extra links – have been removed. Additionally, we’ve given extra control to change mostly all colors in the UI.

Added colors you can customize
  • Page background
  • Page text
  • Headers (H1s)
  • Footer link color

New task selector

The old way to select tasks for a timesheet worked, but it was far from pretty – or fast.

The new way is much quicker, provides more information, and just looks sick.

New task picker

You can sort tasks in alphabetical or rank order…and the system will remember what order you like them in as long as you’re logged in.

The new selector also allows for a much better display of information. Items no longer get cutoff, so you get full descriptions for your tasks.

Additionally, you’ll notice that the giant blue forms for adding timesheet entries have been replaced with cleaner, easier to use options. We’re currently investigating similar changes for the Project and Estimate screens.
