Setting up Basecamp Integration
April 3rd, 2007Cashboard plays nicely with 37signals’ collaborative project management system, Basecamp. Find out how to set up integration here.
Setting things up in Basecamp
First you’ll need to Enable API Access for your Basecamp account.
To accomplish this, login to your Basecamp account as an administrator and visit the Account tab (located on the upper-right hand side of the screen).
On the resulting page that comes up, scroll down to near the bottom and find the section titled Basecamp API. Follow the directions there to enable the API for Basecamp.
Setting things up in Cashboard
After you’ve enabled API access from within Basecamp, you’ll need to do the same from within Cashboard.
To do so login to Cashboard as an administrator, then visit the Settings tab, then the Integration sub-tab.
On this page, you’ll need to turn on the checkbox and enter your Basecamp login information.
After doing all of this, click the Save Basecamp Settings button. This will attempt to connect to your Basecamp site given the login information you provided. If there is an error, Cashboard will let you know.
OpenID
If you’ve enabled OpenID for your Basecamp account, please go to your My Info screen (inside Basecamp) and click the link to reveal a standard username and password. You will use this information for your API login credentials inside Cashboard.
